Final Grant Report

International Instructor Training in Boulder, Colorado, USA, September 2018

The completion of this training would address the critical need for an instructor to continue teaching the Healing Touch Program within Western Australia as the current Instructor, Barbara Rogers, is close to retirement from teaching. Monica Nebauer is the only other Instructor within Australia, and lives on the Eastern seaboard in Queensland. I have worked closely with both of these Instructors and look forward to their mentorship in the future.

I believe the outcome of this course was very successful, and I am proud to share with anyone who listens  that I am currently an Instructor in Training and look forward to experience teaching Australian classes in 2019.

The course itself was amazing to attend, the opportunity to network was enormous, and the value of being able to attend a course in the USA should not be underestimated. The true experience of sharing our work with each other and having an instant rapport with a great group of fellow practitioners soon to be instructors was so very powerful for me. I arrived timid and came out confident. I felt comfortable having found the same rapport with course participants in my Level 5 in 2012 at the Black Rock Retreat in Philadelphia – we remain friends and still network together to this day.

Networking, valued learning, peer support, laughter, life-long friends, all of these were enjoyed, savored and salted away for when needed from this course. My fellow participants in this course were Dawn, Higgins, Jerri-Anne McDermith, Kim McKibben, Elaine Lang, Karen Hoskyn, Susan Holtorf, Stacy Noel, Jaclyn Chisholm, Nicole Cichocki and Crystal Perry. I was totally “blown away” by this group’s abilities and the wholesome learning we achieved both from our Instructor Cynthia Hutchison and by sharing our experiences and views within the group.

We were given fantastic opportunities for questions and guidance F2F in ‘virtual’ online meetings with Lisa Mentgen-Gordon, Amelia Vogler of HTPA and Christina and Jennifer of the HTP Office. Janna Moll also joined us for one day, sharing her views and concepts. It was such a wonderful experience.

Our instructor, Cynthia Hutchison, was truly polished in how she developed the class, enabling us to relax and to enjoy the anecdotes we shared, plus advice and guidance for scenarios within the teaching arena. She built the group steadily towards gaining the extra knowledge and awareness we needed to achieve within the class and to complete the requirements for certification. I also feel truly blessed that Cynthia welcomed me into her home for a couple of days after the class, enabling me to cement in a few extra concepts, personal guidance and to be confident in my journey going forward.

The preparation work and networking continue as all of the 11 participants in this course strive to complete the certification pack. I look forward to the first Level 1 workshop in 2019 when I will participate as Instructor in Training – I am so excited!!

Please accept my humble thanks to the Chair and HTWF Committee for enabling me to participate in this important course to encourage and nurture Healing Touch Program’s future within Australia and in support of the worldwide Healing Touch Program community.

Many blessings

I am very grateful for the grants for my L6 instructor in 2011, and L3 instructor training in 2013.  HTWF funded me travel cost for both trainings to go to Denver Co. Without HTWF's support I would not be able to spread the light and dream of Janet.

I have taught many classes since completing my instructor certification:

  • Over 400 Nepali and Indian students Level 1 class.
  • More than 50 international students Level 1 class in Kathmandu. students were from Singapore, France, Italy, Austria, UK, US, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Netherlands, India, and Philippines. They were massage therapists, acupuncturists, Ayurveda Doctors, MDs, and other kinds of energy workers.
  • 50 students Level 1 class in the Nepali community
  • 100 people Level 2 class in Nepal
  • 30 people Level 3 class in Nepal.

I built a residential healing touch clinic and training center 30 miles east of Kathmandu in Nepal. I have provided introductory classes for thousands of people providing the basic concepts of Healing Touch and energy work.

My students and I have provided Healing Touch sessions for at least ten thousand people, and mass healing sessions for thousands more after the earthquake of 25th April 2015.

We provided self-care classes in orphanages, senior centers, hospitals, schools, local NGOS, colleges, universities, government offices, etc.

With regards.

Love

Aparna
