HTWF General Fund

The General Fund is used for supporting Healing Touch Research, Service, and Education Initiatives. Grant funds are awarded to assist, encourage and advance the philosophy, objectives and techniques of Healing Touch around the world.

image002Department of Neurology, Wake Forest University School of Medicine is conducting a research project aimed at the evaluation of the protective and healing effect of Healing Touch against heat stress using a nerve cell culture model.

STANFORD UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER reports their pilot study is providing valuable information and experience regarding the feasibility of delivering HT in the busy Infusion Treatment Area during chemotherapy for women with breast cancer. They are receiving enthusiastic support from physicians and nursing staff.

International Education

HTWF-Grant-Japan-Group-PhotoInstruct Healing Touch Level 1, 2 & 3 classes in Japan

Six Healing Touch Program classes, including three Level 1, two Level 2 and one Level 3 were taught at three universities in Japan, training a total of 120 students in Healing Touch techniques.

A special lecture on “Healing Touch and Integrative Medicine”, presented at Yokohama Minami Kyousai Hospital in Yokohama, attended by 80 participants. The University of Occupational and Environmental Health in Kitakyushu hosted “An Introduction to Healing Touch” attended by many nurses and educators.

A special lecture for nursing students at Yokohama Soei University, School of Nursing, focusing on the “Integrating of Healing Touch into Nursing Practice”, was well received by both nursing students and professors in attendance.

The combined attendance at the various classes and outreach events is estimated at 227 health care participants.

Healing Touch Clinics
Major advancements toward spreading Healing Touch in Nepal were made by Tim and Pam McConville. In their partnership with Aparna Bhatta, HTCP/I, and accompanied by Ingrida Kancans-McLaughlin, HTCP, the team traveled throughout scenic Nepal offering their own time, talent and the treasure of their personal resources.

A variety of Healing Touch events, including both planned and spontaneous outreach activities were held. Three separate Introduction to Healing Touch sessions in Pokara and Katmandu where the total number of attendees surpassed one hundred people! Healing Touch sessions were offered to people in need as well as instructing and educating local health care and political communities on its benefits. A sixty minute session was given to the Deputy Prime Minister and another session was filmed for television viewing on Nepalese channels out of London. Opportunity abounded on this trip!
